Tunisia-Riad Daghfous: Use of AstraZeneca in Tunisia took place after taking necessary preventive measures

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, General of the National Center for Pharmacovigilance and member of the Scientific Committee for Coronavirus, Riad Daghfous, confirmed that the statement made by AstraZeneca concerning the health problems that its vaccine may cause is primarily a judicial announcement, and the company did not decline that it was a judicial one. Cases of blood clots and thrombocytopenia have been registered.

Daghfous explained that this problem happened two years ago around the world. There is nothing new, pointing out in the same context that the complications resulting from this vaccine emerge after 5 days and up to a month after the individual concerned receives his dose, and not after two years.

Our speaker went on to say that in Tunisia, this vaccination was employed after the complications it caused were divulged and after millions of people around the world received it. The essential preventive measures were taken, and some age groups were exempted from receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine, including young people and children. It was approved only for the elderly and resulted in extremely weak complications only in some people, according to him.

The speaker underlined that these forms no longer have any value today in Tunisia and the world as a whole after more than two years, and scientifically it is impossible for a vaccine to cause difficulties after two years of use.
