1. Wienerfest: They had us at wiener dog racing. This day devoted to dachshunds features racing, a dog costume contest, food trucks, photo booth and raffles at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Saturday. 2. Upper Tampa Bay Chamber Oktoberfest: More wiener dog racing! The celebration at Tampa Bay Downs added wiener dog racing and a Volkswagen show to the Oktoberfest party that includes a giant Munich-style tent, German music, dancing, food, a midway carnival and competitions including stein holding, log sawing, barrel rolling and keg tossing. 5-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sunday. 11225 Race Track Road, Tampa. $5, 12 and younger/veterans free. 3. Streetcar Fest: Ding. Ding. You can take the kids for a free ride on Tampa's historic streetcars all day Saturday. There will also be live music, entertainment and activities at most of the stops. Centro Ybor, 1600 E Eighth Ave., Ybor City. (813) 254-4278.
4. Clearwater Beach Chalk Art Festival: More than 40 chalk artists will adorn the sidewalks and promenades as they compete for prizes and awards. 5. Dia De Los Muertos: Dunedin's funky Casa Tina puts on this annual celebration of the Mexican holiday that pays reverence to loved ones who have passed. The celebration includes candlelit altars, folk dancing, a fashion show and contest, pinatas, folk art, face painting and a candlelit processional with giant traditional puppets. 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday. 365 Main St., Dunedin.
