Police learned that two males were seen leaving the other vehicle and taking off on foot.

Further investigation determined that the suspects were in the area of Dougall Avenue and Cabana Road.

A search was undertaken, including the deployment of Kato — a Windsor police service dog since 2011.

Kato’s efforts led to a male hiding in a wooded area behind a cement wall at a plaza.

The suspect was arrested without further trouble. He’s a 30-year-old Windsor resident, now facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident and breach of probation.

Police said the investigation into the incident continues.
