The Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association invited owners from across the island to enjoy shopping, food and other activities, with pets and their humans showing up by the thousands.

The event was free for everyone and featured pet product displays, dog shows, crafters, and tons of free information.

“Our dogs are super picky with their food, so we wanted to check out the raw foods and there’s so much over here that we like,” said dog owner, Sami Mamea. “This is my son. This is my first son and they mean everything. It’s like our kids you know?”

Owners could also get free pet care advice at the HVMA Ask-A-Vet booth.

To top it all off, attendees experienced a Parade of Dog show, a Parade of Cat Breeds and the annual Hawaiian Kennel Club Puppy Match.

“We’re taking the dogs on a field trip, a little adventure for the dogs,” said dog owner, Leeann. “We’re going to try to give them a pet portrait. We don’t have pictures of the two of them together yet because we just added Beauford to our family about eight months ago.”
