RALEIGH, N.C. — Lots of events happening this week. Here are our picks to help get you through the workweek:

Monday

N.C. State Fair (N.C. State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh) - The annual State Fair is in full swing with new rides, attractions and food! Check our guide for details on parking, the best food and more.
Fictionary (Fullsteam, 726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - Real words with fake definitions. It is kind of like Balderdash. This competitive team game is held every Monday night at Fullsteam.
Stump! Trivia (Kings Bowl, 141 Park At North Hills St, Raleigh) - Join Trivia Jockey Jason as he offers up fun and challenging trivia questions for players of all levels every Monday night at Kings Bowl in North Hills.

Tuesday

In the Heights (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - The North Carolina Theatre presents this production through Sunday at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. From the creator of Hamilton, In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood.

State Fair: Noche Latina (Dorton Arena, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh) - See this free show as part of the Homegrown Music Series at the N.C. State Fair. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is included with your State Fair admission.

Wednesday

TerraVita's East Meets West Dinner (Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill) - This food and wine festival kicks off with this annual multi-course meal at the Carolina Inn.
Military Day at the State Fair (N.C. State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh) - The N.C. State Fair will pay tribute to members of the U.S. Military for their service to the country on this day. There will be a Military Appreciation Parade at 11 a.m. and performances by the 440th Army Band.

Thursday

TerraVita's Hill Fire Dinner (Carrboro Town Commons, 301 West Main Street, Carrboro) - The TerraVita Food and Drink Festival celebrates the men and women who love to play with fire during this annual dinner. This year, this once meat-centric dinner will put vegetables in the limelight. Instead of barbecue and meats over spits and grills, chefs will serve a vegetable-focused menu.
Carla Hall's Soul Food Book Event (McIntyre's Books, 2000 Fearrington Village Center, Pittsboro) - Before her new book is officially released next week, chef and TV personality Carla Hall will greet fans and sign "Carla Hall's Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration" as part of the TerraVita Food and Drink festival! This event also will offer a few tastes and feature a Q and A between cookbook author Sandra Gutierrez and Carla.
SPARKcon 2.0 (Various venues, downtown Raleigh) - Rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence, this annual arts festival will take over downtown Raleigh Thursday through Sunday. There will be more than 2,000 artists performing in more than 200 events spanning music, art, film, fashion and more.

Friday

Don't be Mean to People: A Festival for the ACLU of NC (Ponysaurus Brewing, 219 Hood Street, Durham) - Ths two-day music festival includes 20 acts including Wye Oak, Rafiq Bhatia, Superchunk (acoustic) and Kooley High. All of the proceeds from the festival benefit the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina. Things kick off on Friday night and continue on Saturday. A two-day general admission ticket cost $40.

Triangle Oktoberfest (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - This authentic German festival will feature traditional Bavarian food and fare, and plenty of local and authentic German beers from Munich, live music, inflatables, face painting, hammer striking competitions and Weiner Dog races at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Friday and Saturday. Proceeds will support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and other local and international charities.

TerraVita's Tribute Dinner to Edna Lewis (The Barn at Fearrington, 500 Fearrington Village Center, Pittsboro) - This dinner will celebrate Edna Lewis, who journeyed to professional kitchens in New York, Washington, Atlanta and Fearrington Village, where she introduced the chocolate souffle to the dessert menu. The dinner will also include a panel discussion featuring chef and author Carla Hall.
TerraVita's Sustainable Classroom Walking Tour (Starts at Open Eye Cafe, 101 S Greensboro St, Carrboro) - The Sustainable Classroom Walking Tour beings at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Open Eye Cafe, also the home of Carrboro Coffee Roasters, and ends at the legendary Crook's Corner around 3 p.m. Class topics include lattes, fermentation, craft spirits of the South, barbecue and heirloom apples. Participants include Andrea Reusing, Gary Crunkleton, Wyatt Dickson and Diane Flynt.
TerraVita's Sustainable Classroom (Southern Season, 201 South Estes Drive, Chapel Hill) - A hallmark of TerraVita, these workshops include food and beverage tastings and demonstrations, discussion and educational sessions all wrapped into one. Classes are held Friday at Southern Season.
