Chaitanya Cherukuri examines this year's top-rated U.S. beaches

The United States boasts hundreds of beautiful beaches, from Florida to California, and from South Carolina to Hawaii.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, June 14, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Earlier this year, travel website TripAdvisor revealed its top 25 U.S. beaches as voted for by its users. Here, marketing professional and beach-goer Chaitanya Cherukuri takes a look at the top five.

"Perhaps unsurprisingly, all of this year's top five beaches are in Florida and Hawaii," Cherukuri starts by pointing out.

He's quite right and fifth on the list, Hawaii's Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, demonstrates why. "Located on the island of Oahu, the beautiful palm tree lined cove is well known for its snorkeling," says Cherukuri. "The beach itself is everything you'd expect or imagine from the coast of Hawaii!"

Not only is Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve rated the fifth best beach in the U.S., but it's also often regarded as one of the best in the world. Admission costs $7.50 which keeps numbers to reasonable levels and supports the ongoing maintenance of the preserve and its beach.

Fourth on the list, Miami's South Beach, is a particular favorite of Cherukuri. "It's the archetypal Florida beach, with sand volleyball, and a beach-side public gym!" he explains. "The surrounding area is full of great shops and restaurants, too."

Also rated the area's most popular visitor attraction ahead of Ocean Drive and South Pointe Park, the beach is popular with tourists and locals alike. "It's something of an urban paradise and a place I always love to visit," Cherukuri adds.

In third place is Ka'anapali Beach, located on Maui, Hawaii. "Arguably Maui's most popular beach, it's a long enough stretch that it rarely feels crowded," says Cherukuri.

Indeed, to walk the length of Ka'anapali Beach takes around an hour. Peppered with oceanfront shops, restaurants, and hotels, the beach is especially popular with fans of water sports and, like Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, is well known for its snorkeling.

Runner-up on this year's list is the beach at Siesta Key, Florida, known for its immaculate white sand, crystal clear waters, and breathtaking views out to sea.

"Sunset at Siesta Key is especially beautiful," suggests Cherukuri. "There's ample parking and lots of great amenities, too, while the area's boat tours are deservedly popular and not to be overlooked."

Finally, and topping the list, is Clearwater Beach, in, as the name suggests, Clearwater, Florida. "Wonderful white sand and clear, shallow waters have secured this beach its spot at the top of the nation's favorites," Chaitanya Cherukuri explains.

Especially popular with families, Clearwater Beach tops TripAdvisor's list of the best U.S. beaches thanks to its white sand, warm waters, abundant local wildlife, convenient location, and stunning sunsets, according to the website.

"All of the beaches in the top 25 are worthy of visiting," says Cherukuri, wrapping up. "The top five, however, are simply not to be missed, each being entirely deserving of its spot on this year's list of top U.S. beaches."
